New speedo swim suit

For a long time I’ve been talking to Ian about how badly I want to get back into swimming and waterpolo again. I know it’s not realistic to get back into waterpolo again now that I’ve really f*cked up my neck. The last couple of years that I still played my neck was already playing up every now and then causing me to miss matches and training. After our car accident I know for sure that my neck would not be able to handle it. I try not to think about it too much, because deep down it hurts knowing that I won’t play again.
Since our car accident I have only been into a swimming pool once and that was about 4 weeks after the accident. I did not do any swimming, only playing with my little nephew in the toddlers pool. I can’t believe that it’s been over a year since I’ve swam my last lap. Me… the swim addict hasn’t done any swimming for over a year. It’s shocking!!!
So I’ve decided that I want to go to the swimming pool and TRY. See how my neck will hold up if I swim a couple of km’s. I grabbed my bag with my swim gear today and guess what? Every thing was there except for my swim suit. WTF? I have no idea where it is and I am not in the mood to go looking for it either. I have dozens of swimmers still laying in Holland but here I only had one. So I decided to do something that always makes me happy; go buy a new one.
I didn’t feel like looking for one at the mall because the sports shop doesn’t sell that much swim wear in the winter. So I had a look around on Ebay and found a nice one. It’s a speedo sculpture swim suit which means it kind of hides the wobbly bits, which is perfect for me since I gained some kilo’s after the car accident. And the price was very good. Can’t get much cheaper than that.
It doesn’t get any better than this! Two gold medals for Holland in the water. Maarten van der Weijden got the first gold medal today with a magnificent win on the 10 kilometers open water swimming.
