Valentino Rossi the Legend

Monday, September 1st, 2008

Valentino Rossi - GP of San MarinoI have already said for years that Valentino Rossi is a MotoGP legend. After seeing the GP of Spain - Jerez in 1997 I became one of his biggest fans.

I don’t think I can think of anyone who has raised the profile of the MotoGP sport more than Valentino Rossi has. His riding style, his personality, his celebrations… He has won every title a rider could have won; 125cc, 250cc, 500cc and MotoGP.

Yesterday the seven times MotoGP world champion wrote history by matching Agostini’s record of 68 Grand Prix wins. And… Valentino Rossi’s career is far from over! Valentino Rossi is a true legend!

Valentino Rossi back on top

Monday, May 19th, 2008

Shit, that MotoGP race in Le Mans was awesome!!! Valentino Rossi was the bomb - he was riding that Yamaha bike like he was possessed by a demon. He dominated the race and is back in the lead for the championship. I got only one thing to say to all those people who had the nerves to doubt him and write him off…

Valentino Rossi gives the finger!

Valentino Rossi wins the GP of China

Monday, May 5th, 2008

Valentino RossiFor the last couple of months I have been getting pissed off about all the negativity surrounding my MotoGP hero. The commentators were wondering out loud whether Valentino Rossi still had it in him to win a Grand Prix. So-called Valentino Rossi fans switched over to the Casey Stoner camp. People were saying it was time for him to retire and that he was too old to keep up with the young guns. It made me furious. Valentino Rossi has seven world titles under his belt and he is without a doubt the most talented rider on the track.

Yesterday Valentino Rossi proved everyone wrong and silenced all his critics by winning the GP of China in a very impressive way. His motorbike and tires finally allowed him to showcase what he is capable of. Every lap he went faster and faster until no one could keep up with him. He is a true champion and it’s about time that people consider him as a world title contender again. Valentino Rossi rules!

Superbikes & Supersport Assen

Monday, April 28th, 2008

So yesterday the Superbikes & Supersport were in Assen. In a way I was super excited, because it was in The Netherlands and I used to go to that track on a yearly basis, but in another way I was a bit sad. I wish I could have been there. It has always been a bit of a high light for us. Camping at the back of the track, waking up to the sound of the motorbikes, watching the training and the races, meeting some of the riders and falling asleep to the sound of drunken folks partying. The last time I’ve been to the Superbikes & Supersport races (and MotoGP race) has been in 2004. That’s four years ago. Way too long if you’ve ask me!

Everyone in Holland expects me to go to Philip Island for the Australian rounds, but they don’t realize how far away it really is. It’s almost like going from end of Europe to another. And the money is another issue. But… I hope that one day I will be able to go. Until then I just have to watch the races on TV. It’s not the same as actually going there yourself, but it’s still exciting.

Yesterday it was a good day for the Aussies. My favorite rider Troy Bayliss won both Superbikes races. I can’t believe he is going to retire at the end of the season. He will be missed big time. Let’s hope he can retire with another world championship under his belt. Andrew Pitt won the Supersport race. That race was awesome. I’ve never seen such close racing with the Supersport class. It had me sitting on the edge of my seat. All in all a good day of racing.
